It's not their brains that are talking, it's the addiction that's talking.
***DISCLAIMER: Since so many people needlessly took offense to this, i will clarify:
- This is specifically meant to target those smokers who think their rights are being violated by being told they can't release a carginogenic poison into the air-space of people who have chosen not to do the drug called tobacco
- To the smokers who have the disregard and disrespect and outright resentment towards people who do not smoke, and smoke in their presence just to assert the points listed in the above signs
- ESPECIALLY to those who smoke in a house, or in a car with children right there with you
- And for all those who fight for the rights of smokers against non-smokers: these signs are exactly what you sound like!
To those smokers who DO respect their families enough to walk down the block from your house to smoke, who DO respect their friends and peers enough to not smoke around them:
- This image doesn't apply to you - beyond the idea that you should still try harder to quit because your family and friends don't want to see you get horribly ill, and frankly, neither do you! ***
It's not their brains that are talking, it's the addiction that's talking.
I got this idea while replying to some old comments i'd skipped out of laziness, and came back to my Smoking = Attempted Murder/Suicide rant, and it was something lonelycrow said that triggered this idea in my head, hehe. She's awesome.
Anyhoo, yah. I hope this paints a clear mirror back to you people who get all pissy about the smoking bans, thinking your private rights are being violated - when you're the ones who are violating the private rights of everyone around you who are smart enough to choose NOT to smoke cigarettes.
And i hope this makes those of us who are smart enough to choose not to smoke cigarettes have a good depressing laugh, because we know that all those smoke clouds in the background are gonna trigger that "idiot who's gotta prove something" reaction in too many smokers, who'll give this image a cheer with a puff...
SMOKING IN THE VICINITY OF ANY CHILD, INSIDE OR OUTSIDE IS CHILD ABUSE!!
Hah. So true. Both of my parents smoke, and one's an alcoholic too - and they're kinda dying for decades now... everybody's sick in the house except me... and even I've got learning disabilities... well, congrats, idiots.
Those faces made me smile.

I really respect you, LimeGreenSquid, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with your tone here.
I'm not a smoker, and I've never done any kind of drugs outside of Ritalin, caffeine, and tiny amounts of alcohol, but I have to say that this strikes me as off, especially the part about smoking outside still being bad.
Car exhaust gives off far more pollution than the individual cigarette, and inhaling that carbon monoxide certainly isn't good for the individual health. The problem with gas indoors is that it stays around for a lot longer, and ensures that it stays in your lungs instead of, you know, rising into the air.
Not to mention that labeling people as "idiots" for disagreeing with you won't really do anything more than antagonize. But it seems like that's your goal here...

Heh, I like it, and I totally agree. While, like the others said, this might be a little harsh on smokers, I still think that smoking is not a good idea in general.

Sure. Just like I'm selfish for having a brand spanking new computer that cost me $2000, while I could be spending it on charity.
Or how I'm selfish in buying expensive foods that aren't good for me because I like their taste, when I could be buying ramen every night, while buying food for other people.
I guess that wanting to buy an SUV so that I could carry weapons and armor for SCA meetings, and be able to carry around the odd tool (that's not necessarily work related) is also selfish, too.
We all do selfish things. It's a part of being human.

Neither is it necessarily easy to quit once you get started. And there are ways to mitigate second hand effects, so then it becomes a question of what the person who's doing it is willing to undertake for their own health.
I'm overweight, because I like food. Overeating in general is not a good idea. It's bad for the health, and if I keep this up, I may end up with back problems. Considering the artist in question's tendency to draw women of a certain proportion, it strikes me as interesting as how smoking is considered the worse evil.
Diabetes is a pretty bad thing, very wide-spread, and it's primarily caused by lots of kids being fed sweets from parents, and raised up on things like coca cola. It's not like smokers have a monopoly on bad ideas.

As I said earlier, no I don't. I just don't like incendiary language and holier-than-thou attitudes. As well, I have known many smokers who have been very responsible with their habits.
And I said before, there are methods to mitigate second hand smoke.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have you ever wondered what something meant as far as Photography goes? Things like "Cable Release", "AEB", "C-41", "Neutral density filter", and "Polarizer"? The photonotes.org Dictionary of Film and Digital Photography is one place to stop and get it all answered. This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.

Hurt yourself all you want, if you must.
Don't hurt others.
Do you smoke?
Did I hit a nerve?
