Gaia

Gaia, Mother Earth.

I've had this idea in my head for ages as well, and finally had the gusto to actually draw it.
It was originally drawn on white paper with pencil and black pencil crayon for her body, orange and yellow for the water, and purple for the land. Once i made it negative using a non-fancy image program, all the colors fell into place, and this was created! I'm so happy how it turned out!
I took the idea from when i drew Celeste Moonbiter, and gave her the earth as her belly, cradling it like a pregnant mother, yet feelin' sexy at the same time, hehe!
I have another image in my head from the lyrics of Marilyn Manson, "...the world spreads its legs for another star..." which is also a partial inspiration for this ... but that image involves a star *wink wink*.
I also contemplated doing something in regards to the Milky Way ... but that may have been too much ... though a fun idea for perhaps another time!

But anyhoo, back to this one: Gaia, the word has always brought warm feelings to me. Maybe it's just because of the awesome SNES game 'Illusion of Gaia', but i think it was before that, too. I don't know if i should have spelled it Gaea or not ... most people these days just spell it Gaia. So that's that.
I took my drawing of the devil woman holding the world in her feet (belatedly for 6/6/06), and reversed it to see that orange and yellow would make blue, and that purple would make green once negativised! *wiggles fingers magically*
