God is Love - 1998

That's my theory and i'm stickin' to it!

I mean, though ... the way some of these christians are being raised today, you gotta wonder. Anyone who can hate or do EVERYthing in their power to prevent love from happening, has to be under evil influence.
What am i talking about? For this example, the gay marriage thing.
If love is the creed, why does it have to be selective? Because a book written by bigots, claiming the word of their god, thousands of years ago says so?
I mean, just the actions, orders and words of god in the bible itself (what humans claim a god who conveniently supports their human agendas might say), the homophobia, slavery, genocide, misogyny, slandering other forms of thought, toying with and setting up traps for his own people to fall into - Yahweh acts way more like a devil than a benevolent god ever possibly could.
No, no, no, no ... it doesn't work that way!

Love is love and, when consensual and mutual, it should always be tolerated, accepted, and encouraged!!!

But again, i understand not all christians are raised as hateful little devils - but the core of their belief system ... boy, lemme tell ya. Evil is at the heart of much of what that book tells then to believe and do...

But i have to say, my faith in christians (hah, pun intended) has been growing of late since being in Newfoundland. The ones here don't seem so tainted with hate as the ones i knew in BC - where a guy would be ready to beat you up if you looked unchristian.
But again, the town i lived in was physically smaller than where i live now - and with more people comes more variety of thinking, which is always a good thing. It lessens the strains of useless discrimination over time, and allows the general mutual support of each other to flow easier. You'll never meet such warm-hearted people - not because they are christians, but because they're Newfies!

Not to say there aren't unsavoury Newfies (wouldn't be a group of humans without some - and newfies might giggle at my use of the word "unsavoury"), but i was treated like family, rather than an outcast, and they knew the whole time i didn't believe, and they never pushed it on me.

It doesn't really excuse their support of such a blatantly demonstrably evil book, but at least they are ignoring the evil bits (for the most part - some still have conservative views on gays and abortion) - but again, i must stress: if you are ignoring gods rules, and these rules are based entirely within one ancient collection of already disproven books that claim divine inspiration, are you then NOT part of god's people, already? If you don't believe in the laws laid out by the absolute leader of the religion you follow, why do you still support those harmful beliefs by continuing to live your life in the name of such disgusting, bigoted, blood-thirsty entities?
That's my biggest question.

Anyhoo, political hoo-haw over.

Bigoted Christians are indeed under evil influence.
