Hehe, good ol' Mega Man! Drawn in 2004 from the screen of him jumping and shooting, of course!
THIS is the Real Mega Man. This is the only way i ever want to really see Mega Man - since most of the newer artwork and the X crap and all that just look like it's trying too hard to "look cool".
This is from Mega Man 2 - the GREATEST of all Mega Man games! (but could also be from every other Mega Man game released for the original Nintendo Entertainment system) Sure it was maybe the easiest of them all, but it was challenging, too - and the music was one of the greatest in video game history (they just don't make that kind of quality music anymore - and i don't mistake nostalgic feeling for quality - but ever since gaming went into 3D, the music seriously downgraded in its ability to pump you up like good ol' Mega Man!)
But anyway, i was reminded of this, and realized i hadn't posted it here yet, either, by this image of good old-school Bubble Man - [link] by ~yooki42
Enjoy the nostalgia gamers who grew up in the 80s!
I'm alright with the newer artworks (Except Battle Network and Starforce, I don't like them because they didn't follow the storyline on that one) , and I love Megaman X, but I just adore it when people go back to the original Megaman.
Thanks. Yah, it's always nice seeing original Mega Man. I couldn't figure out what kind of a game Battle Network was supposed to be, so i never gave it a try.
I've never played Battle Network in my entire life, (I research games before I play them) and I would have played it but it was the fact it didn't follow the original storyline that pushed me away. To be honest, I was sad because they'd built up that storyline that lasted for thousands of years after the original Megaman, only to cut it short and replace it with a new one. If I'm correct, it's the same for Starforce too. (Sorry for the long comment.)
No worries, long comment appreciated. Was Battle Network like a regular Mega Man game, though? Running and shooting and killing robot masters, or was it some weird card-based puzzle game or something else, like it looked on the back of the case? I was never quite sure what i was looking at in the screen-caps... I suppose i could just youtube it...
Not really. it's a real-time RPG, and you don't just focus on Megaman, you focus on his freind, Lan Hikari. Lan in the real world, Megaman on the net.
Battle isn't like old Megaman battles where you shoot the thing while progressing through the level, it's more like a random boss battle. The battles, you can move around freely in your side of the screen and fire at the enemy, but to do more powerful attacks you have to pick it from a menu as a Battle Chip. (I'm not very good at explaining.) Some classic characters make a comeback in the Battle Network series, but I'm not sure how many or which ones.
Haha, yah Mega Man 3 was a classic and had some of the best music. Somehow i beat it before i beat Mega Man 2, and the difficulty difference between the two was quite significant. 3 being much tougher than 2. But now i can barely find myself being able to beat the 4 extra levels with the robot bosses of Mega Man 2 at the end of Mega Man 3. Kid reflexes are sometimes just better i guess, haha.
