Artist's Comments

Even the faery world has its rebellious adolescent faeries.
Bending the stems of flowers has become the new prank that these young faeries pull.
The elders of course say it's wrong because of the risk to their friends, the Flowers themselves, but these young faeries don't give it a thought because they don't yet grasp the scope of what they're doing.

The goal is to take a flower's stem and hold it bent. Then, they use their natural energies to accelerate the cell-growth in the flowers so that they permanently form in this bent shape. Then they laugh and fly away, sometimes hiding just near it to see when someone will come by and notice it.

The elders also speak against it because of the dangers. Some pranksters have bent the flowers so far that the stem has broken. This makes all the decent faeries sad, as the flower must then die for such an unnecessary reason.
Sometimes, the faery has left her/his hands on the flower's stem for too long, and the growth energies cause their hands to fuse with the stem of the flower, and he/she is slowly turned into a bud.
This is terrifying to the faery as they no longer can fly away, but at least they will still be alive as a bud. This is why even the Stem Benders keep away from flowers with buds, because they just don't know if that might have been one of their friends.

But young, rebellious faeries still do this without a care. The ones who know what they're doing rarely get caught, or fused. But there are some innocent young ones that get caught up in the "naughtiness" of it, and try it themselves to prove they aren't below their peers - and those are the ones that end up getting caught (which is the better of the three outcomes), end up breaking the stem (which is the sadder of the three) or fused to the stems (which is the worst of the three) the most often.

All this came to my head while drawing this last night ...
And, her name is Pepper because of her bum tattoo.
I like her other tattoos, too *wink*.

Is that little thing a fused fairy bud? Before I read the description, I thought is was a fairy apple and my husband thought it was a little fertility goddess.

I meant it to be a little fertility goddess-shaped fruit, growing from a stem growing from the areola of her nipple, hehe.

Hehe, thanks. Yah, i like my hip-wings idea. Looked good on other faeries, and when i don't want to hide a beautiful body, hip wings work better than back wings!

Ok, but it IS fruit, right? I'm not telling him he's right. Nope.

And, BTW, that so weird. LOL
