Things you don't see every night, walking home...

... in Chilliwack.

Well, let's start with the big fat shirtless guy holding a katana by the sheathe in his hand, who walked out from beside a building, saw me walking toward him, and then walked back around the side of the building.

This was going toward the intersection on Young toward Central. At first all i could tell was that it was a big fat shirtless guy, bald or balding, holding a long club/stick/thing, (which made me a little bit nervous) but as i got closer i recognized the signature curve of a katana (aka, samurai sword), in a black sheathe. As i walked by the side of that building, i gave it a wide birth - who knew if he might decide to just slash his arm out as i got there and decapitate me - but nothing happened, i didn't see him, nor did i try to look. I just walked by - i'm not exactly a regular looking fellow, myself. Though the big yellow subway shirt kinda takes away from my semi-street rat look, heh.

But i bet he was just possibly drunk or high, and wanted to do something silly, with no real ill intent, and felt kinda like a caught idiot when i walked there. I mean, what scummy street criminal actually has a katana? Probably very very few - but a few nerdy sword collecters just might, and i bet that's what he was.
I know that caught-idiot feeling, though, since i used to do silly things late at night, like, oh, taking naked jogs around my neighborhood.

Anyway, next, as i turned down Chilliwack Central Rd. i could see a small dark form in the middle of the street, but couldn't quite tell what it was, since the street lights didn't really reach to that part of the street. But i had a suspicion and i was right. As i got closer, i saw a little arm stretched upward, the paw bent to the side above the body of a poor run-over cat. I muttered sadly, "poor kitty" and walked on by. That kinda thing breaks my heart. But it also was very strange how the cat's arm was poised straight up - for a bit before i figured it out, i thought it was the tail of a living cat, just sitting in the middle of the road for some reason, until i saw the unmoving twisted form.

Then, the next thing i saw, which doesn't really count since i saw it first yesterday while walking with Sarah, was the severed head of a crow, with a short protrusion of neck/spine bones.

Truly this was a night i really really wish i had brought my camera with me.

If i believed in evil forces, i'd think that corner was haunted, or was a nerve center for evil, since also beside the building that the fat katana guy walked out from beside, was a dead rat, that i also saw yesterday while walking.

Man, i wish i had weed to smoke before i started walking home - all this would have been way trippier than it already was! Hell, i don't need it, but it would have been fun or ultra creepy anyway.

But you know what the REALLY twisted thing is? I actually missed the times in St. John's, walking up-hill both ways from my apartment to the call center while i was living there ...

Why deny the simplest of pleasures? do what you wanna do,and enjoy it!

At least a katana would be more original than a gun. I guess. Haha.

What a bizarre spot.

Support the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by buying me a pizza.

I saw a VERY sweaty, almost oily-looking, older white man, maybe around 60, shirtless in bright blue spandex shorts standing in the MIDDLE of a major Dallas intersection during rush hour, looking at the sky.

I also saw two headless bird carcasses on a wheelchair ramp. Weird, because there were no trees around and the heads were nowhere to be found. It looked like they have a battle royale.

I love odd things.

Three weird things that are weirder together.

WOW...First..not everyone who collects swords are nerdy man. I mean I am (a nerd)...and I have several katanas, wabisashis (sp?), and tontos (sp?) (full samurai set) as well as other various swords and knives, let alone fire arms. But still...lol. I totally feel you on the "poor kitty" thing. I think that any time I see an animal who's been run over. Most times I get the feeling that animal could have been avoided, but the driver was a sadistic fuck. Anyway, I hope your trips (no pun intended you hippy you...lol) home are less freaky from now on.

HAHA, I would've loved to have seen that fat dude. My partner has a couple of katanas but with our strict blade laws in Scotland if you even show a decorative piece they will pull you into the slammer :/ You made a very wise decision to be weary round the corner - can never be too careful and what I think when I prepare myself is 'what would warrior Ashley do? be weary? smart choice, the path to a true warrior ;D ' hahaha just joking..... or am I? <_< Strange how I'm watching Ninja Warrior on tv at this very moment.
Shame about the kitty, but it makes me slightly peed that the person who ran it over didn't stop. I would've known if I had ran over a living thing - certainly a thing as large as a cat. Ah well, the world isn't full of all the nice things and sugar(hmmmmsugar).
May your trips be trippy and you always have your camera by your side :3
